WHAT MAKES ELECTRIC CAR SERVICING DIFFERENT.

Every BMW is designed and engineered to provide unparalleled driving pleasure, regardless of its drivetrain. Just like petrol or diesel engine vehicles, electric vehicles also need servicing.  However, there are some key differences between their service schedules.

Servicing costs are unique to each model, with discounts available for electric BMW vehicles which are over 3 years old, via BMW Personalised Pricing.  The older the vehicle, the greater the discount, with up to 40% discount available on parts for vehicles over 10 years old.  Please contact your local BMW Centre to find out more.

FEWER PARTS.

Electric vehicles have fewer moving parts than vehicles with a traditional combustion engine, so there are less things to maintain or repair – making it easier to keep your BMW in optimum condition.

NO OIL CHANGES.

Petrol and diesel engines require premium oils to run smoothly, whereas fully electric vehicles don’t. That’s one less thing to worry about.

COST EFFECTIVE.

Although consumable parts such as tyres and brakes are comparable, electric vehicles do not use parts such oil filters, spark plugs, timing belts & chains etc., so they can be cheaper to maintain than an equivalent BMW with a petrol or diesel engine.

ELECTRIC CAR SERVICING.

Electric BMW models feature Condition Based Servicing (CBS). This system actively monitors various service components for wear, ensuring that your BMW only requests attention when it’s required. When your electric BMW is serviced (Vehicle Check), our BMW Trained Technicians carry out a full inspection of your vehicle. This includes:

  • Performing a Standard Scope which includes checking the parking brake function, and checking for any warning messages

  • Replacing the microfilter with a genuine BMW microfilter

  • Checking the charging cable for damage

  • Checking steering and brake components

  • Underbody check of vehicle including all visible parts

Additional CBS options include Brake Fluid Service, Front Brake Service, and Rear Brake Service.

With BMW Service Inclusive, your electric vehicle’s servicing is covered until its 5th birthday, with no mileage restriction* (T&C’s apply*). With one upfront payment, you can relax in the knowledge that all work will be undertaken by trained BMW Technicians, using only Genuine BMW Parts, which come with a two-year warranty.   • Service vehicle check in accordance with BMW guidelines

  • Service microfilter
